Draw a rough closed room—no need to draw to scale. Set measured wall lengths afterwards.

Leica DISTO

Bluetooth (Android Chrome, Windows/Mac Chrome or Edge)

Switch the DISTO on (Bluetooth starts with it), close the DISTO Plan app if it is connected, then tap Connect and pick the DISTO. Readings arrive the moment you measure. If it connects but no readings arrive, use keyboard mode instead (pair it in Android’s Bluetooth settings).

Keyboard mode (iPad, and any tablet)

iPad browsers can't talk to Bluetooth devices directly, so the DISTO types its readings in like a keyboard. DISTO X3 / X4: pair it in the iPad's Settings → Bluetooth (it shows as a keyboard). On the X4's Bluetooth settings choose Termination: Enter, Unit: off (on also works), decimal point "." or ",", and Autosend: on to send every measurement, or off to send with the Bluetooth key. Turn Navigation off. While paired, the iPad's on-screen keyboard is hidden: hold + or − on the X4 for about a second to bring it back.

Then select a wall and measure: the reading goes into the length box. Metres (3.250), metres with units (3.250m) and millimetres (3250mm) are all understood.

Then pick which end of the wall moves: the other end stays where it is.

Tidy measurements

Walls of neighbouring rooms within 200 mm become one shared wall; small differences are spread so every room fits. Unmeasured walls stay roughly where they were drawn.

Add level

Walls, room names, ceiling heights and wall settings are copied. Foundations and stairs are not copied. The new level goes on top, with a 300 mm floor; change it in Level settings.
