Terms of Use
The important part: Site Measure is a tool to help you record measurements and prepare sketches,
drawings and diagrams. It does not check your work. You are responsible for checking and verifying every measurement,
drawing, calculation, export and evacuation diagram before you rely on it or give it to anyone else.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of Site Measure (the “App”), provided by Workbench Apps (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, signing in or using the App you agree to these terms. If you use the App for a business, you agree on behalf of that business.
2. What the App does, and doesn't do
- The App helps you sketch floor plans, enter measurements (typed or from a laser measure), generate roofs, elevations, 3D views, DXF/PDF/PNG/SVG exports and evacuation diagrams.
- Some outputs are worked out by the App, for example roof geometry, wall lengths adjusted by “Tidy dims”, stair sizes, areas, heights and scales. These are approximate aids only. They depend on what you enter and may contain errors.
- The App is not a survey, a certified drawing, engineering or building advice, or a substitute for a qualified professional. It does not check compliance with the National Construction Code, Australian Standards (including AS 3745), council requirements or any other rules.
3. Your responsibilities
- Check all measurements on site, and check every drawing and export against the actual building, before you use it for quoting, design, ordering materials, construction, approvals, insurance or any other purpose.
- Make sure anyone you give an output to knows it must be checked.
- Evacuation diagrams must be reviewed and approved by a competent person against the site's emergency plan, AS 3745 and any other requirements before they are displayed. The App's checklist is a prompt, not a compliance certificate.
- Laser measures, Bluetooth and keyboard input can give wrong readings. Check readings as they are entered.
- Keep your sign-in email secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
- Keep your own copies of important projects. Use “Download” on the Projects page.
4. Free trial and subscription
- New accounts get a free 7-day trial, limited to one project at a time and up to five rooms. No card is needed.
- After the trial, a paid monthly subscription is needed to keep editing and syncing. Without one, your projects remain viewable and exportable.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Account → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply from your next billing period.
- Fees are not refundable for partial months, except where required by law.
5. Your data
- Your projects belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and back them up so we can run the App.
- Projects are saved on your device and, when you're signed in, in our cloud database hosted in Sydney, Australia. We collect your email address, your projects and basic usage and technical information to provide the App, and handle them in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We don't sell your data.
- We take reasonable steps to keep data safe and backed up, but we can't guarantee it will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data by contacting us.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the App. For example, don't try to access other people's data, interfere with the service, reverse engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the App available and working, but it may sometimes be unavailable, change, or contain bugs. We may update the App and these terms. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll ask you to accept the new version next time you sign in.
8. Liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.
- Subject to that, the App is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from inaccurate measurements, drawings, calculations, exports or evacuation diagrams, or from relying on them without checking them. This includes loss of profit, materials, rework, delays, penalties, or indirect or consequential loss.
- Where our liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to supplying the service again or refunding the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the App and cancel at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. Download any projects you want to keep before closing your account.
